Want to stay a little LONGER, go a little DEEPER or explore FURTHER? Experience new adventures beyond the limits? Enter the world of decompression and train yourself in decompression diving with superoxygenated mixture for added safety.

SSI REGISTER

THE BLUE SEA DIVERS SEYCHELLES DIVING SCHOOL IS THE ONLY CENTER IN THE SEYCHELLES TO OFFER NITROX TRAINING.

The air we breathe that is contained in “normal” compressed air cylinders contains 79% nitrogen and 21% oxygen (deliberately ignoring the share of rare gases and rounding the numbers).

Nitrox (or enriched air, or EANx …) is enriched with oxygen. This means that the oxygen level is higher than 21%. As a rule, bottles filled with Nitrox contain between 32% and 36% or even 40% oxygen. The nitrogen content is therefore only 68%, 64 or 60% at most.

We therefore increase the percentage of oxygen in order to decrease the percentage of nitrogen, which is mainly responsible for desaturation accidents.

Dives with accessible rigor, proven safety with a mixture of 21 to 40%.

THE ADVANTAGES OF NITROX ARE MULTIPLE:

N
Less nitrogen than with air diving
N
More efficient levels
N
Less risk of desaturation accident
N
Less fatigue
N
An increased safety curve
N
To enjoy diving stays, diving cruises in complete safety.

HOW TO DIVE WITH NITROX?

You just have to pass the specialty SSI Enriched AIR Enriched Air Enriched, accessible:
=

Open Water Diver divers (or equivalent certification).

=

Students taking their Open Water Diver, it is possible to pass the Air Enriched specialty at the same time.

=

People 15 years and older.

You will learn, among other things, the specificities of Nitrox enriched air diving, considerations in terms of depth, but also equipment.

In particular, you will learn how to analyze your air, that is, how to know the oxygen level included in your tank of your upcoming dive. It is this exact rate that you will enter into your dive computer. We insist on the fact that the analysis of the air of your bottle must be done systematically before each of your dives and by yourself, not by someone else. Safety must always be a priority.

DO I NEED SPECIFIC EQUIPMENT TO DIVE WITH NITROX?

You will dive with bottles clearly marked as containing Nitrox.

So, motivated to get started? And for divers already Nitrox certified, what are your impressions of diving in the normal air?

Nitrox training includes:

– Gas analysis before diving
– A dive with a 40% superoxygenated mixture
– Digital theoretical course via a dedicated application
– Digital certification
