Mahé Island, 155 Km2, is by far the largest of the
Seychelles Island with Victoria, its capital. The Island
holds an international airport, the main harbour and most
of the population leaving in Seychelles.
The city has kept that colonial touch even after renovations
of its streets for the last twenty years, giving Victoria
a more modern aspect.
After sunrise, it is enjoyable to walk towards the markets
where one can discover local art, meet fishermen and choose
paintings or sculptures.
It is even the best chance one gets to taste the local cuisine,
so famous around the world, in one of the many small restaurants.
Later, after a relaxing break, be amazed by a visit at the
botanical garden. You will discover tropical plants ranging
from hibiscus, orchids and varieties of palm trees.
Another day, you can visit the island and its path leading
you to coconut trees and cinnamon plantations surrounded
by an abundant vegetation, reach the wooded peaks where
the views over the surrounding islands are breath taking.
